Dark Matter
What is dark matter? What is Black matter? What is the dark matter theory all about? Is there anything out there in the universe which causes all these asteroid and volcanic attacks on earth? Is there another universe made out of something that we can never even feel? Get all these answers in this article about dark matter.
This is what dark matter is presumed to look like:
If you are a space fanatic like me, then you probably would know that the sun revolves around the center of the milky way galaxy, and has a pendulum-like up and down motion during it's path(this up and down pendulum like motion is represented by the green lines in the figure below.)
Then, you will also know that disasters like huge volcanic eruptions and meteor attacks have led to the complete wipe-out of many species, one of them being dinosaurs. So, what's the pattern of all this? Is there any time interval between them? Is it going to happen to us humans also?
Answer: I don't know, you don't know, the SCIENTISTS don't know.
That's why they predicted something to be out there causing all this - THE DARK MATTER
Confusing, isn't it? Even the scientists in NASA are confused.
So,it is assumed that it is dark matter which is responsible for all this. Dark matter does not interact with regular matter, which makes it very difficult for us to detect them. Some NASA scientists tried out an experiment underground to capture and analyze dark matter, but they failed...
It is assumed that when it passes through the earth, it gets accumulated in the core, because of the extreme temperature and heat waves there. This excites them, and after a limit, they just blast off, causing a giant volcano that has wiped out many species in the past.
Furthermore, we even detect sudden changes in speed and direction of asteroids in space, which is not supposed to happen....It is assumed that dark matter is the cause of this.
Scary, isn't it?
So coming to the oscillating motion of the sun, it is assumed that there is a layer of dark matter above and below our galaxy, that seems to be 'playing' with our sun.
In fact, there is a possibility, but of extremely low chances, that there is another civilization of dark matter.
We don't know.
It turns out that roughly 68% of the universe is dark energy. Dark matter makes up about 27%. The rest - everything on Earth, everything ever observed with all of our instruments, all normal matter - adds up to less than 5% of the universe.
Dark matter will be very powerful if exists. Of course, if there is something that can cause such huge changes, it has to be strong and powerful. If even 0.005% of dark matter interacts with the regular matter, it could easily mean the end of our existence.
By the way, dark matter and black matter are the exact same thing...They are just differently used in different websites
Dark matter is related to another phenomenon called dark energy, about which I have talked in an other article.
